Pelé's World Cup
A 17-year-old Pelé played for Brazil in Gothenburg in the 1958 World Cup, which Brazil went on to win in Stockholm.

Gotemburgo, Suecia, Estadio
Scandinavia's biggest concert stadium, built for the 1958 World Cup
Ullevi in central Gothenburg is the largest stadium in Scandinavia and the place where the biggest concerts in the Nordic countries happen. Its wave-shaped roof hung from tall masts was very modern when it opened in 1958.

Salidas
Después del show
The trams next to the stadium are very busy after concerts. Walk 15 minutes to the city centre or Centralstationen instead.
Bolsos y acceso
Bags larger than A4 are not allowed at concerts. There's paid bag storage near the stadium.
Batería externa
Small power banks are usually allowed. Charge it before you go, mobile data gets slow with a full crowd.
Paraguas
Umbrellas aren't allowed inside. Bring a rain poncho instead.
Pagar dentro
Sweden is almost cashless. Bring a card or phone wallet, cash is rarely accepted.
El día del evento
For concerts the gates usually open 2 to 3 hours before the show. The queue for the pitch forms much earlier, so come early if you want to stand near the stage.
Avenyn
Gothenburg's main boulevard, 15 minutes' walk, with restaurants for every budget.
Stora Saluhallen
Indoor food market at Kungstorget with Swedish snacks and seafood.

Gothenburg built Ullevi for the 1958 World Cup, which Sweden hosted. Architects Fritz Jaenecke and Sten Samuelson gave it a roof hung from masts, so no pillars block the view.
In 1985 Bruce Springsteen played two nights here, and fans jumped so hard that the ground under the pitch sank. Since then Ullevi has hosted most of the biggest tours in Scandinavia.
It hosted the Euro 1992 final, when Denmark beat Germany, the 1995 World Athletics Championships and the 2004 UEFA Cup final. The local club IFK Göteborg plays its league games at the smaller Gamla Ullevi next door.
Take a tram to Ullevi Norra or Ullevi Södra, or walk about 15 minutes from Centralstationen.
The stands are covered by the roof, but the pitch is open. Bring a rain jacket for a standing ticket.
At Gamla Ullevi, the smaller football stadium right next door.
Usually 2 to 3 hours before the show. Check your ticket for the exact time.
Near Centralstationen, walking distance from Ullevi.
